Moxie is a sweet, active 8-month-old Shepherd mix from Florida who is more than ready to finally find a place to call home. ❤️

Despite being just a puppy, Moxie has already experienced more change than he should have. What he needs now is a committed family willing to give him the time to settle in, learn a new routine, build trust, and understand that he’s finally somewhere he gets to stay.

Once Moxie knows you’re his person, he’s ready to be your adventure buddy, hiking partner, playmate, and best friend. He would thrive with an active family who wants to include their dog in everyday life. He loves to play, would happily hit the trails, and is always ready to learn something new.

And this smart boy already has quite the résumé! Moxie is potty trained, crate trained, walks wonderfully on leash, and knows his basic commands.

Moxie also does well with other dogs. He can take a little time to warm up and realize everything is okay, so slow, thoughtful introductions are important. Give him a chance to take things in, and his sweet, playful personality begins to shine.

He truly doesn’t have a mean bone in his body — he’s simply a young dog still learning how to navigate this big world.

Like many puppies, Moxie is still working on keeping all four paws on the floor when he gets excited! Because of his enthusiastic jumping, older children would be the best fit while he continues working on his manners.

More than anything, Moxie needs commitment and consistency. He isn’t looking for someone who expects a perfectly polished dog on day one. He’s looking for someone who wants to bond with him, teach him, learn alongside him, and give him the stability he deserves.

Moxie has had enough change for one little guy.
