Spade - Male - 2 Years - Shih Tzu Mix

🐾 Meet Spade! 🐾

Spade is a 2-year-old Shih Tzu mix from Puerto Rico weighing about 23 pounds. He is fully up to date on his vaccinations, and his 4DX test is negative. 💙

Spade is described as an easygoing, playful little guy who does very well with female dogs. With male dogs, he currently prefers to keep his distance. He is able to share space and eat with the group, but generally does not play or interact with the males and may growl if a male dog approaches him while eating. He is not a good fit for a home with cats.

Once in Maine, Spade will be fostered in Augusta with both male and female dogs, which will give us a great opportunity to learn more about him in a home environment. His foster will be working with him on his interactions with the male dogs and helping us determine what type of home will ultimately be the best fit for him.

As always, we want to be transparent about what we know while also giving our dogs the opportunity to settle in and show us who they are once they arrive. We’ll continue to update Spade’s profile as we learn more about this sweet boy. 🏡🐾
